Why subscribe to Susie’s Journal?
Excellent question.
Come to my hoppin’ kitchen, basically. Enjoy conversations and writing with me, access to my considerable archive, get treated like an adult intellectual.
I’ve been blogging and writing newsletters since 1986. This is my latest, and favorite, incarnation.
Uncensored, naturally. I publish things here that get me thrown off of social media and banned from the what’s left of the media dynasties.
Troll-free. You can view a full spectrum of art, frank talk, and thoughtful criticism. I moderate every single comment here and will not let any BS stand. None.
There are a few sections to SBJournal:
Susie Bright’s Journal — breaking news and current events from Susie
The Leisure Hours — Devoted to eating, drinking, imbibing, crafting, throwing parties and making your own fun
Unreliable Narrators— fiction and tall tales
The Occasional Sex Question — Matters of the human sex organism.
Memoir: It is pretty unfathomable, I’ll admit.
Publishing Chops — I’ve published/edited a few thousand authors in my editing career, at all the major book houses and dozens of the smaller ones. I know this world and I like to pull back the curtain!
Note: Some of the Sex Question posts are for “paid” subscribers only, and I’ll tell you why. Not because they’re beyond the pale — not at all. It’s because I’m protective of material that gets seized by trolls for their own purposes. I’ve noticed, trolls will only disrupt things when it’s “free” — they are too cheap to carry their moral crusade any further than that.
